Illinois Walleye Trail Season Opener 10/26/03  Illinois River Results

With low water conditions and almost no current Trolling Leadcore line with Shad Raps paid off for the team of Randy Carroll and Lee Scott from Oswego, Illinois. They were able to out fish 63 other teams from Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois with a 6 fish limit weighing 13 pounds 4 ounces earning them a check for $2,680.00. 

Placing second was Rick Parrott from Sparland, Illinois and Mike Tatera from St. Charles, Illinois with a limit of fish scaling 12 pounds and 13 ounces paying $1,480.00. 

Third place was Rick Funcannon of Lacon, Illinois and David Warner, Peoria, Illinois with 12 pounds 11.5 ounces earning $920.00. 

Big Fish Honors went to the team of Jim Peterson Lansing, Illinois and Rob Peterson Dyer, Indiana with a 4 pound 2 ounce Sauger. 

The field of 64 teams there was 6 limits of fish caught. Total fish caught was107, weighing 193 pounds. 

The river temp was 59 degrees with about a foot of clarity. We would like to thank the city of Henry for there help along with Ranger Boats, Excide Battery and Cabalas. 

Our Next tournament will be November 9, 2003 on the Illinois River in Spring Valley, Illinois.
