The Illinois Walleye Trail had its 2nd tournament of the 2004 season, with the Illinois River being up about 3 feet, with a foot clarity, and 52 degree water temperature.
The team of Al Schrofer and Jeff Kowalczyk from Tinely Park, Illinois weighed a 6 fish limit, weighing a total of 14 pounds 6.5 ounces. Al and Jeff, caught their fish trolling crank baits downstream of Hennepin. They concentrated on the 12 to 14 foot breakline. This earned them a check for $2120.00.
Placing 2nd was the team of Troy Nelson, and Jim Hassler of Lombard, Illinois, weighing a 6 fish limit
totaling 13 pounds 10 ounces. They earned a check for $1230.00.
We had a tie for third place weighing in 12 pounds, 15.5 ounces, the teams of Lee Scott, and Randy Carroll, from Oswego, Illinois, and the team of Tim and Tony Horneman of Shererville, Indiana. Both teams collected $490.00.
Big fish honors paying $480.00 went to the team of Steve Lotz, and Dave Daughenbaugh, from Lena, Illinois, weighing in a 3 pound 12.5 ounce fish.
