Bethel-Gilbert win Montana Governor’s Cup 

Dale Gilbert and Lucky Bethel turned in a tournament record catch in winning the 13th annual Montana
Governor’s Cup Walleye Tournament on Fort Peck Reservoir on July 7-8.

Gilbert, of Ulm, and Bethel, of Great Falls, had a two-day total of 51.46 pounds in winning the $10,000 first
prize. It was the heaviest 10-fish catch ever in the Governor’s Cup.

They weighed in 37.88 pounds, a tournament one-day catch record, on Friday then added 13.58 pounds
Saturday.

Their one-day catch record held up just one day. On Saturday, Casper, Wyo., fishermen Mitch Horning and
John Marohn had a 43.56-pound catch, good enough to vault them into third place in the final standings behind
Jake Hatzenbiler, of Williston, N.D., and Daryl Belik, of Tioga, N.D.
