 2001 Oregon Governors Cup Results

The 16th Annual Oregon Governor's Cup was held Labor Day Weekend, September 8th and 9th in Umatilla Oregon. This walleye tournament is the 3rd and final tournament held each year in the Columbia River Walleye Circuit. All three tournaments are catch and release. Tournaments are entered as two person teams. This year 48 teams participated from Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. 

In two days 198 walleye were weighed in with an average weigh of 4.99# per fish. On Saturday 109 fish were weighed in with a total weight of 517.02#. Sunday 89 fish were weighed in for a total weight of 471.52#.

The Tournament Results were as follows.

1st 46.28# Larry Adams & Mike Chupa, Kimberly & Twin Falls, ID $3,647.00

2nd 43.90# Mike Davis & John Legg, Vancouver WA & Bend OR $1,909.00
Fisherman of the Year Bonus for a total of $3,909.00

3rd 42.88# Patrick Sullivan & Drew Vincent, Pasco WA $1949.00
Includes Sunday Big fish of 11.62#

4th 35.90# Fredric & Andrew Denny, Kennewick WA $818.00

5th 33.90# Travis & Wren Hyder, Boardman OR $872 
Includes Sat. 2nd Big Fish

6th 31.86# Pete Vermeulen & Bill Lueckel, Benton City & Pasco WA $591

7th 31.80# Noy Kumsi & Jeff Reeder, Kennewick WA $454

The team of Mike Davis and John Legg also received the "Fisherman of the Year" award from the Columbia River Walleye Circuit for accumulating the most points for the year. They received $1500 from the circuit, and $500 from Smoker Craft Boats, for a total of $2000 in added money.
