BERNS & LAHR FISH THEIR WAY TO THE 
WALLEYE ANGLERS TRAIL (W.A.T.) TEAM OF THE YEAR WARD.

BELLEVUE, IA- Marty Berns, Dubuque,IA and Jeffrey Lahr, Dubuque,IA, after being shut out on Saturday, bring in 11.79 pounds on the final day(Sunday) to fish their way to the Walleye Angler's Trail Team of the Year Award. 18 Walleye Anglers Trail(W.A.T.) teams launched from the Lock & Dam Boat Ramp in Bellevue in a 2 day, 2 man tournament to determine this years Walleye Angler's Trail Team of the Year. The 18 teams where fishing for a tournament win as well as the Team of the Year Award. Teams fished on Saturday, September 29th from 7:00a.m. until 4:00p.m. and Sunday, September 30th from 7:00a.m. until 2:00p.m.

According to Walleye Anglers Trail, Executive Tournament Director Harry Miller Jr. and Assistant Tournament Director Robert Schmerbach, the Walleye Angler's Trail Team of the Year Award caps off a full season of Walleye Fishing by rewarding the top team catching the most pounds. Teams are awarded one point for each pound of Walleye brought to the scales and 10 "show" points for participating in each event. Show points reward the teams for choosing to participate in W.A.T. events. Late summer warm water conditions made the bite tough on both days. Kevin Oyen, Dubuque,IA and John Marshall, Dubuque,IA weighed 22.16 lbs, for a payday of $800.00 to win the Bellevue tournament.
