AIRD & MARSHALL FIND SUCCESS IN LACROSSE AT THE WALLEYE ANGLERS TRAIL (W.A.T.) TOURNAMENT.
LaCrosse, WI- Randy Aird, Dubuque,IA and Pat Marshall, Dubuque,IA currently in 3rd place in the Walleye Angler's Trail Team of the Year point standings moved into 2nd place with a win in LaCrosse. 23 Walleye Anglers Trail(W.A.T.) teams launched from the 7th Street Ramp in a 2 day, 2 man tournament. The 23 teams brought in over 110 walleye to the scales. The winning team weighed 19.46 lbs. Teams fished on Saturday, June 9th from 7:00a.m. until 4:00p.m. and Sunday, June 10th from 7:00a.m. until 2:00p.m.
According to Walleye Anglers Trail, Executive Tournament Director Harry Miller Jr. and Assistant Tournament Director Robert Schmerbach, high muddy late spring water conditions under clear skies made the angler's work for their catch on Saturday, cooler cloudy conditions gave way to a hot sunny afternoon on Sunday didn't make the work any easier. The bite was slow both days. Randy Aird, Dubuque,IA and Pat Marshall, Dubuque,IA weighed 19.46 lbs, for a payday of $945.00 A complete listing of prizewinners is as follows:

The next Walleye Anglers Trail tournament is September 15-16, 2001 at Guttenberg,IA, on the Mississippi River pools 10,11,12.
Membership is required to fish in Walleye Angler's Trail events. All Walleye Angler's Trail events are qualifying events for Cabela's National Team Walleye Championship event.
