2002 Texas Walleye Association Tournament

Anglers from four states gathered at Lake Meredith in the next to last tournament to
determine the qualifiers for the Associations Two Day Classic. Teams encountered fierce
40-45 mph winds throughout the day but still managed to catch and release hundreds of
small hungry walleye. The problem was finding the fish over 16" so that a legal limit could be
brought in. Congratulations to the winning team of Donnie Bell and Tom Snow for finding some really nice fish.

The combination of low water, days of high winds, and stained water made for a tough bite
at Lake Meredith in the last one day tournament before the Association's Two Day Classic in
October. The Classic will determine the qualifiers for the 2003 Cabela's National
Team Championship. In it's initial year, we want to thank: all the teams
who participated from as far away as Kansas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma; to all the sponsors who have made
donations to the Association; and to all those who have helped us conduct and publicize the
tournaments.
