TOURNAMENT
GENOA, WI-43 Walleye Anglers Trail(W.A.T.) teams venture north to Genoa, WI for the 2nd tournament of the 2002 Season. The teams fished pools 8, 9 & 10 of the Mississippi River for a 2-day 2-man tournament, April 6th & 7th.
37 teams launched Saturday and Sunday morning from the Power Plant boat ramp. The team of Jay Motszko, Arcadia, WI and Rick Bryson, Arcardia, WI brought in 25.97 lbs. to claim 1st place and the cash payout of $1650.00. Big Fish of the tournament was brought in by the team of Wade Carney, Readstown, WI & Mitch Mabb, Readsotwn, Wi on Saturday. A walleye weighing 5.53 lbs. for $200.00.

According to Executive Tournament Director Harry Miller Jr. and Assistant Tournament Director Robert Schmerbach teams were greeted by cloudy, breezy conditions that made for a slow, tough bite. All teams worked hard on both days for the fish the brought to the scales.
The Walleye Anglers Trail now heads to LaCrosse, WI for tournament number three of the season on June 8th & 9th, 2002.
All Walleye Anglers Trail events are qualifying events for the Cabela's National Team Walleye Championship event. Membership is required to fish in Walleye Angler's Trail events
