PATTERSON AND RADCLIFFTE TAKE SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP
SCHMERBACH AND GYLNN TEAM OF THE YEAR

Bellevue, IA-The 20 Walleye Anglers Trail (W.A.T.) teams that qualified for the Season Championship fished on Saturday, September 28th and Sunday, September 29th to determine the Team of the Year and the 15 teams that will qualify for the 2003 Cabela's National Team Walleye Tournament.

20 teams launched Saturday and Sunday morning from the Lock & Dam boat ramp. Cloudy skies with an occasional shower greeted the participants. The rising river condition and summer like temperatures contributed to a tough bite.

The day 1 leader was the team of Galen Bremmer, Avoca, WI and Tim Watson, Blue River, WI who brought in 16.38 lbs.

The team of Troy Patterson, Trempealeau, WI and Dale Radcliffe, Onalaska, WI brought in 24.70 lbs. to claim 1st place and the cash payout of $1025.00.00.

Big Fish of the tournament was brought in by Maury Schmerbach, Dubuque, IA on Saturday, a walleye weighing 7.06 lbs. for $120.00.

1st Place: 24.28 lbs.-Troy Patterson, Trempealeau, WI/ Dale Radcliffe, Onalaska,WI - $1025.00

2nd Place: 26.28 lbs.-Nick Cagley, Floyd, IA/Steve Leslein, Dubuque, IA - $725.00

3rd Place: 25.34 lbs.-Robert Lampman, DeSoto, WI/Colleen Lampman, DeSoto, WI - $500.00

4th Place: 22.73 lbs.- Tom Millenkamp, Dyersville, IA/Gerry Oberbroeckling, Holy Cross, IA - $400.00

5th Place: 18.02 lbs.-Kevin Oyen, Dubuque, IA/John Marshall, Dubuque, IA - $270.00

Teams finishing 6th thru 20th earned $50.00. All teams participating earned a $50.00 gift certificates from Cabela's.

Big Fish Awards: Saturday 1st Big Fish-Maury Schmerbach, Dubuque, IA/Mike Glynn, Dubuque, IA - 7.06 lbs. for $120.00

Saturday 2nd Big Fish-Galen Bremmer, Avoca, WI/Tim Watson, Blue River, WI - 6.22 lbs. for $80.00

Sunday 1st Big Fish-Tom Millenkamp, Dyersville, IA/Gerry Oberbroeckling, Holy Cross, IA - 5.42 lbs. for $120.00

Sunday 2nd Big Fish- Robert Lampman, DeSoto, WI/Colleen Lampman, DeSoto, WI - 4.56 lbs. for $80.00

Executive Tournament Director Harry Miller Jr. concluded the awards ceremony by awarding the Walleye Anglers Trail Team of the Year award. This award is for the team with the most total pounds caught and points awarded at all five W.A.T. events.

The 2002 Team of the Year is Maury Schmerbach and Mike Glynn of Dubuque, IA. Maury and Mike teamed up for 138.29 total points.

All Walleye Anglers Trail events are qualifying events for the Cabela's National Team Walleye Championship event. Membership is required to fish in Walleye Angler's Trail events
