ILLINOIS WALLEYE TRAIL JUNE 2, 2002 

HUSBAND AND WIFE WINS SAUGER TOURNAMENT

Rick, and Joby Parrott, of Sparland, Illinois won Sundays, June 2, 2002 sauger tournament on the Illinois River. The husband and wife team weighed a 6 fish limit of sauger, with a total of 19 # and 14.5 ounces. Winning $925.00 and a $1,000.00 certificate compliments of Ranger Boats.

The team also captured big fish honors with a  3# 11.5 ounce sauger earning them an additional $160.00. The winning pattern was trolling crankbaits in 12-14' of water. 

2nd place honors and earning $540.00 with 15# 9.0 ounces was John Phillips from East Peoria, and Mike Gibson, of Dyer, Indiana. 

In 3rd place was the team of Heath Bohman, from Groveland, Ill, and Scott Demeuse,
Middlteon, Illinois weighing in 13# 8 ounces. 

Conditions for the tournament found the river dropping with showers and cloudy skies. Water temps were 73 on the surface, with 8-10 inches clarity.
