| | 2005 Triton Boats - Evinrude E-TEC Lake Erie Walleye Trail takes on Vermilion
The Western Basin Sportfishing Association (WBSA) will be holding the third event of the Triton Boats - Evinrude E-TEC Lake Erie Walleye Trail (LEWT) in Vermilion on Saturday June 11th. The official registration and check in site will be the South Street Municipal Public Boat Ramp.
Registration will be available on Friday night from 5-7 PM at the boat ramp. Saturday will start early with registration, sign in and boat inspection beginning at 5:30 AM. All registrations Friday evening or Saturday morning must be paid in cash. Boat US and West Marine have stepped forward and will again be there serving free coffee and donuts to all the participants and they will also have a gift bag for each team filled with merchandise and coupons.
The boats must be back by 3 PM for the weigh in to determine finishing places. The weigh in will find pop donated by Boat US and West Marine and pizza donated by Hungry Howies for all of the contestants.
WBSA President Marc Hudson invites everyone to attend the weigh in to find out where the participants fished and what techniques were used. “Because of the great generosity of our sponsors we are able to make sure every team that participates leaves with a prize and those prizes often flow over to the spectators as well” added Hudson.
“We have had excellent participation at our first two events and expect that to be surpassed as more people are getting their boats into the water for the year” commented tournament director Matt Davis. “If we can get the weather to cooperate we will see a lot of big fish come to the scales.”
The WBSA is a Social based Club for fishermen and women that fish in the Western Basin of Lake Erie and its tributaries. Membership is open to all fisher people no matter what their location. Our goal is to present information in a manner that will help sustain and improve fishing in one of the greatest inland sport fisheries in the world. Scientific information, fishing techniques, locations and presentations will be presented at our monthly meetings by expert and knowledgeable speakers and tournament anglers in our group. These anglers are very open with techniques and methods and will help any member that is trying to learn new methods.
Openings still exist in both divisions for this event.
