WALLEYE ANGLERS TRAIL TOURNAMENT
LA CROSSE, WISCONSIN
MAY 21 & 22, 2005
The Walleye Anglers Trail held its third regular season qualifying tournament May 21 & 22, 2005 out of La Crosse, WI. with 36 teams competing for over $ 9,000 in cash & prizes.
The team of Mike Martine & Terry Mueller clinched the first place award and a check for $3,050 by bringing in two huge baskets of fish both days of the tournament. The team of Jerry Boardman and Gary Schreiner kept the pressure on but fell a few pounds short to capture second place and received a check for $1,560.
Seasonal temperatures, overcast skies, mild winds with a few light rain showers greeted the contestants on Saturday. Sunday brought bright sun but the wind picked up with gusts to 35 miles per hour making it a real boat control challenge.
