SCHUTT WINS WAL-MART FLW WALLEYE LEAGUE WISCONSIN DIVISION EVENT ON LAKE WINNEBAGO
OSHKOSH, Wis. (July 10, 2006) - Boater Dave Schutt of Fond Du Lac, Wis., earned $3,150 Saturday as winner of the Wal-Mart FLW Walleye League Wisconsin Division event on Lake Winnebago. Schutt, along with co-angler Chad Hoinacki of Fairwater, Wis., caught a five-walleye limit weighing 14 pounds, 12 ounce.
Rounding out the top five boaters are Clifford Jakusz of Stevens Point, Wis. (five walleyes, 13 pounds, 1 ounce, $1,620 plus a $400 contingency bonus); Greg Aldridge of Eau Claire, Wis. (five walleyes, 12 pounds, 4 ounces, $1,350); Joe Boehlein of Chilton, Wis. (five walleyes, 12 pounds, 3 ounces $990) and David Hackett of Amherst, Wis. (five walleyes, 12 pounds, 3 ounces, $990 plus a $250 contingency bonus).
Hoinacki earned $1,575 as winner of the Co-angler Division. Co-angler competitors share weight with their boater partner. Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Michael A. Ledvina of Whitelaw, Wis. ($810); Troy Zupke of Fond Du Lac, Wis. ($675); Shannon Larson of Rice Lake, Wis. ($495) and Erwin Schuette of Manitowoc, Wis. ($495).
Three FLW Walleye League divisions - Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin - each feature three one-day events and one two-day Super Tournament during the regular season. Every angler who receives weight credit earns points, with 200 points awarded to the winner, 199 for second, 198 for third, and so on, except for Super Tournaments, which award 300 points to the winner, 299 for second, 298 for third, and so on. These points determine angler standings.
The top 35 boaters and 35 co-anglers from each FLW Walleye League division advance to the $141,950 Wal-Mart FLW Walleye League Finals, set for Sept. 7-9 on Lake Michigan in Escanaba, Mich. Anglers finishing in the top 10 in each division also receive priority entry into the Wal-Mart FLW Walleye Tour for 2007.
The Wisconsin Division's next stop is the Super Tournament presented by Evinrude July 29-30 in Green Bay.
