| | Lowrance Pro Team Walleye Circuit to visit Boysen Reservoir. Stop No. 3 June 20,21,& 22 in Wyoming
CASPER, WY. — The Lowrance Pro Team Walleye Circuit, now in its fourth season, will hold its third and final event on Boysen Reservoir at Boysen Marine in Wyoming, June 20,21,22.
“The fish are going to be big,” said FoodSource Lures pro John Green of Casper, WY, who won our first Lowrance tournament event in 2004, and $50,000. “The fish should be shallow and really aggressive for the most part, each boat should haul in a limit every day. This fishery is great because there are so many patterns that an angler could try. Guys will be trolling, jigging, casting cranks and even using rigs. I think the two most popular patterns will be casting cranks or plastics around submerged trees and brush. In the past it has taken a combo of techniques to win on Boysen”.
Green predicts catches of 16 pounds per day will be needed to make the cut into the top 10. To win, he says it will likely take a weight over 20 pounds on the last day. Pro Teams form CO, MT, ID, UT, NE, SD, ND, MN, MI, IA, and WY, will be competing in the three-day event. On the Lowrance circuit all teams compete on days one and two, and only the top twenty percent of the field compete on the last day for a one day shootout. If you would like to enter your team you can call our main office at 307-472-9887 as we still have some openings.
Boysen Marine will host daily takeoffs each morning at 7 MST. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday’s weigh-ins will also be held at the marina beginning at 4 p.m. The community is invited to attend daily takeoffs and weigh-ins, which are free and open to the public.
This will be the final-qualifying tournament this season and this means we will be crowning our Mercury Team of the Year winners. It’s a close race with Cory Jueneman & Brent Bietelspacher from South Dakota leading the field with 196.0784 points followed closely by second place team Shannon Grismer & Colin Bietelspacher also from South Dakota with 190.3386. Rounding out the top ten teams are Lee Pulse & Scott Handel from SD- 182.6381 (3rd), Gerrick McComsey & Dan Stier from SD- 161.105 (4th), Tom DeBerg & Rick Bucholz from WY- 152.4063 (5th), Rick Walter & Bruce Brugger from WY- 151.5507 (6th), Chuck Nedved & C.R.
