LPTWShoshoni, Wy-  The Lowrance Pro Team Walleye Circuit’s final qualifying tournament, the Toyo Tires Summerslam, is being held on Boysen Reservoir.  Teams have come from twelve different states to battle the over 90 degree weather for the first place prize and also a chance to qualify for the Yar-Craft Boats Championship on Devil’s Lake in North Dakota in August. Limits have been reached by most of the fields each day and the weights have been close. On the Lowrance circuit all teams compete on days one and two, and only the top twenty percent of the field compete on the last day for a one day shootout.  MC, David Underhill, was predicting that the cut would be 27.50 lbs, but the baskets have proved to be much heavier and after day two, we found the cut to be 29.11 lbs.

Chuck and CR Nedved from South Dakota started off early with a 21.39 lb day one and held strong day two to end in 34.83 lbs and the chance to lead the field out on day three.  Chuck and CR also had a 9.87 lb big fish on day one to take the Sportsman Channel’s Big Fish Award of $1000.00.  Chuck McAuley from Casper, WY and Tim Lookingbill from Lander, WY are in second at 34.13 lbs followed by John Marohn and Mitch Horning, both of Casper, WY with 33.26 lbs.

Boysen Marine has been hosting the daily takeoffs each morning at 7 MST. The Friday’s weigh-ins will be held at the marina beginning at 4 p.m. The community is invited to attend daily takeoffs and weigh-ins, which are free and open to the public.
