YarCraft Boats Championship Day 2:

8/23/07:  Thirteen Pro Teams Tie for First Place!

Top Teams

While most anglers agreed it was a beautiful day to be Walleye fishing, not everyone agreed it was good “catching”. The well known phrase, “that’s why they call it fishing instead of catching” was heard often on stage this afternoon.

While some teams were able to put together another consistent weight for today, other teams struggled, and only brought in smaller fish, or less than a full limit of fish to the scales.

The top 13 finishers after the second day, advance to the final round on day three, where everyone’s weights will start from zero again. Everyone knows that they have a chance to win the title of  “Champions”!

Going out in the number one position are the Veteran Professional anglers and Lund/Mercury Pros, Tom Backer of Fargo, ND and Keith Seidlinger, of Devils Lake, ND took over the number one spot today, by weighing in a nice basket of fish weighing in at 22.36 pounds! Add that to their day one weight of 19.69 pounds, and they now lead with 42.05 pounds.

After duplicating the largest weight on day one with a weight of 23.74 pounds today, one of the local favorites to land in the top 13, is the Pro Team of Jason Feldner and Chris Koth, both of Minnewauken, ND who took up the number 2 spot, with a total weight of 41.17 pounds.

Lee Pulse, of Kimball, SD and Scott Handel, of Chamberlain, SD landed in the third position for bringing in another consistent basket of beauties weighing in at 19.98 pounds. Added to the 20.62 on day one, gives Lee and Scott a total of 40.60 pounds.

Hans Halvorson, of Grafton, ND and his partner, Jason Feldner, of W. Fargo, ND secured their spot in the top 13 by catching a nice limit of Walleye weighing in at 18.38 pounds, giving them a total of 39.87 for their two day weight.

Rounding out the rest of the field are the following teams:

5th place:  Jeff Trana, of Devils Lake, ND and Rick Darling, of Leeds, ND

6th Place:  Gary Maher, of Menoken, ND and Steve Maher, of Mandan, ND

7th Place:  Enge Dressler, of Bismarck, ND and Scott Dressler, of Hermosa, SD
