WinnersDay two of the MWC Dubuque tournament started out about 4-5 degrees warmer than yesterday and produced clear skies and no fog for the take off.  The 112 teams brought to the scales another 249 fish that weighed in at 433.09 pounds.

With a variety of different presentations and self proclaimed luck of the big kicker fish, at 7.47 pounds,  on day two, in addition to bringing in a limit both days was the key for this local duo.  Fluctuating river levels and a lot of floating grass made it a challenge for all anglers involved.

Second place honors went to Steve Lotz of Lena, IL and Dave Daughenbaugh of McConnell, IL.  They brought to the scales another 5 fish on day two weighing in at 11.26 pounds, for a two day total of 21.95 pounds.

Third place went to Pete Petros of Fort Wayne, IN and Tim McCarthy of Dekalb, IL.  They netted an additional five fish on day two, weighing in at 9.80 pounds for a two day total of 20.40 pounds.

Second place big fish went to Rick Anderson of Asbury, IL and Wayne Millman of Dubuque, IA for the 2.66 pound walleye they netted.  Third place went to Scott Grapp and Greg Azbill, both of Waterloo, IA with a 2.25 pound walleye.

Anglers were willing to share the techniques and locations used.  If you wanted to know where to go and what to do, we found out that many locations and all types of presentations were used.  Handlining seemed not to be big a producer and willow cats didn’t get top mentions.  One eyed jigging and crank banks received more mentions than other techniques.  Number 7 shad raps in hot perch color were mentioned several times.

This shaped up to be yet again, another great MWC event.  The Dubuque Hilton Garden Inn and Greyhound Casino provided a great location for weigh in headquarters.  Final results will be in for Team of the Year standings, for a complete press release visit www.masterswalleyecircuit.com
