Cold Front Moves in for Day 3 of the FLW Walleye Tour at Winnebago by Julia (Juls) Davis

Cold Front Moves in for Day 3 of the FLW Walleye Tour in Oshkosh, WI on the Winnebago Chain

The skies were dark and the wind out of the Northwest, as the Pros and Co Anglers competing on the third day of the FLW Walleye Tour headed out from the Pioneer Inn Marina this morning.

Temperatures will only be in the low 60's today, and the cold front may affect some anglers fish, but Tom Brunz, who is currently sitting in the top ten felt that his fish wouldn't be affected as much. "I think it's probably going to affect a lot of people. I'm not so sure it's going to affect the fish that I'm fishing. I'm fishing a little deeper, out in the mud, and I think they are  probably less likely to be affected, than maybe the shallow weed fish, or rock fish. It might make them hunker down, but hopefully it won't bother mine. (Laughs and says, "I'm just trying to be optimistic")

Juls: I think there's supposed to be a little less wind today...

Tom: That will be a little bit nicer, but during practice and the first two days of competition, the more wind I had the better my fish bit, so I'm not so sure that's good to have less wind. It's going to be much more comfortable running without all those big waves...that's for sure.

Today’s weather:

Temperature at takeoff: 61 degrees.
Sky: Cloudy.
Wind: West at 7 mph.
Barometric pressure: 29.79 and steady.
Forecast: Cloudy this morning with showers developing this afternoon. High temperature of 62 degrees. Wind northwest at 10-20 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.

Today will be a big day, not only do we find out who will be fishing the top ten on the final day tomorrow, but as it's the final regular season event of the year, it will also determine who will be headed to the Championship in the Fall.

Today also reveals who the 2009 "Land-O-Lakes Angler Of The Year" will be too, so there's a lot riding on today's results.

The top ten in the AOY standings are:

Ted Takasaki-437 points
Pat Byle-427 points
Chris Gilman-408 points
Brian Bjorkman-390 points
Scott Stiel-388 points
Tom Keenan-386 points
Ross Grothe-382 points
Joe Okada-382 points
Rock McGillivary-377 points
Perry Good-372 points

Going out in first place today is, Jeff Nechterlein of Fremont, WI. He's only 5 ounces ahead of the second place Pro, Jimmy Hughes of Oshkosh, WI and only 6 oucnes ahead of the third place Pro, Tom Hoinacki of Waupun, WI.

To view an interview of third place Pro, Tom Hoinacki, please see video link #3 on the FLW's event on the Live Leader Board.

There is no way to guess who will win this event, since weights flip flopped yesterday, and probably will again today. Will the local Pros prevail? Will the Touring Pros overtake them here? It's still anyone's tournament to win, so stay tuned to Walleye Central's Live Leader Board for more continued coverage of the Walmart FLW Walleye Tour on Lake Winnebago.

For more information about fishing with the  FLW please see their website at www.flwoutdoors.com.

Today's weigh in will begin at 3PM Central Time, so come on down and watch to see who makes the cut for the final day's competition tomorrow.
