| | Winnebago MWC Day 2am
It's another beautiful day in Oshkosh. As the teams launched their boats this morning, all hopes were high for another spectacular day or fishing on Lake Winnebago. Even the teams that feel they are out of the running know they have a decent shot at a payday. By putting just one fish, the right one, in the livewell, a team can win big fish award that for first place is paying out $1350.
Teams that are near the top know that they have to put together another good bag of fish to stay in contention. It was nearly impossible to get any info from the leading teams. Fishermen that were willing to share were quite vaque, other than saying they trolled harnesses or cranks or they jigged. One bit of info I did get was that lots of people are fishing "shallow" water. Hopefully, after today's weigh in, some teams will be a bit more talkative.
Today's weigh in will again begin at 3:00 but like yesterday, there will probably be teams weighing in early. Due to high water temps, the teams do not want to hold their fish in the livewells too long in fear of them dying. Any dead fish incurs a penalty of subtracted weight.
Again, stop by Menominee Park and support these team teams. They work hard at what they are doing and these hot, humid days do not make their jobs any easier.
