Schleis and Seidl Win at Winnebago by Pete Lewis

Schleis and Seidl capture Winnebago MWC

In 12th place after day one, Mark Schleis and Randy Seidl brought in a 21.41 pound five fish limit to take first place in the Lake Winnebago MWC tournament. Their second day weight was the heaviest one day weight of the tournament. While many teams were wishing there was more wind today, Schleis and Seidle were happy with the calm waters. They were pulling spinners off boards and the bite was very light. The calm water allowed them to see their planer boards and tattle flags tip ever so slightly. THey would then "feed the fish" some line. With rougher waters, they would not have seen these signals as easily.

In second place was the team of Gordon Schwarz and Brett wilkens with 38.67 pounds.
3rd place: Jake LaPine and RJ Harwood 37.20 #
4th place: Josh and Jason Wiesner 37.12#
5th place: Ryan Olson and Jason Muche 37.03#

Day 2 big fish results
1st: David Kolb and Jason Kopf 7.34#
2nd: Jim Leanna and Gordon Rabetski 7.20#
3rd: Tim and Ben Ahrens 6.96#

With the water temps over 80 degrees in places, I was amazed at how many fish came to the scales flopping wildly. It was a testimony to the fishermen and the ability of the livewells on today's boats to keep fish alive and healthy.Temps again reached almost 90 today but that didn't keep a large crowd from coming out and cheering.

Again, a huge thank you goes out to all the volunteers. Without them, tournaments like this would be nearly impossible to run.
