Behind Every Man, There is A Woman by Gary Gray

If it wasn't for that certain person in all of our lives, behind the scene, most of us would forget what we have to do today, tomorrow, and what we should have done yesterday, while we were Fishing!

I couldn't do what I like to do, if it wasn't for my Wife. She takes care of the home front when I am on the road, or at a Tournament, or away on a Hunting Trip, or Ice Fishing, Or just plain having Fun!! You see, we all take them for granted. I'm not writing this to get brownie points, I'm just going to tell it like it is!

I am the worst one for remembering things, like birthdays, anniversary's, and all other special occasions, But she does. She remembers what I did last year at this time, when I can't even remember what place I took in the last tournament I fished, or maybe I don't want to remember, But she does! If it wasn't for her, I'd be lost. I am sure that there are a lot of guys, who are shaking their heads about what I am writing, but Guy's, lets face it, We are LOST without them.

I fish about 18-25 Tournaments a year. I am on the road about 25-30 weeks a year, and my wife handles the home front all by herself. She works full-time, she is a mom full-time, and she is a secretary for me part-time. Without her I would be lost! I call home every night when I am on the road, and she always has a word of encouragement. If I am at a tournament, and not doing well, the call home makes that bad day disappear. She and the other girl in my life, (my daughter Dana), have been my biggest fans in the tournament world. They have allowed me to chase a Dream, retire and go fishing on the Tournament Trail.

We all think of the good things about our wives, but how many times do we actually thank them for letting us enjoy fishing and the great outdoors. I am sure some of you, or maybe a lot of you are saying how much of a schmuck I am for writing this, well, then I guess I am!, because I am damn Proud of her, she's my best friend, she's my business partner, she' my Wife!!!!

If you took time to read this, and you have a special someone who let's you enjoy the outdoors, then take 10 seconds and tell her, "THANKS FOR BEING THERE". Next time you're going fishing, she might even want to go along!!!!!

This a Tribute to all the special Gal's in every fisherman's life ~
You Gal's are a Special Breed!
And to my Wife, Mary, Thank you for being there!!!

Tight Lines,
Gary Gray
