High winds, cold temperatures and high water greeted the 29 Walleye Anglers Trail teams at their 2nd. regular season tournament in Bellevue, Iowa this past weekend.
The team of Harry Miller Jr. and Bob Schmerbach squeaked out a victory over the 2nd. place team of John Mannerino and Mark Michael by .05 lb.. Bob Schmerbach brought in a 3 lb. walleye to capture the “Big Fish” award.
Many anglers were catching nice walleyes but they were in the protected 20 to 27 inch slot. The Walleye Anglers Trail assisted the Iowa DNR with their creel count and tagged fish identification project at the weigh-in each day.

1st. Place $2,800 Harry Miller Jr,/Bob Schmerbach
2nd.Place $1,400 John Mannerino/Mark Michael
3rd.Place $1,045 Sam Willett/Tom Griesinger
4th.Place $840 Dale Krueger/Art Lehrman
5th.Place $460 Jerry Boardman/Gary Schreiner
6th.Place $460 Tom Millenkamp/Steve Kopp
Big Fish $290 Bob Schmerbach

Falling Rock Bar & Grill – Middle of the Channel award – Mark Crites/Scott Koebel - $100.00
Northern Battery – Charging up the field award – Tom Clearman/Lawrence Ecklor – 2 (3100) Northern Batteries
Richter Anchor 25 pound award – Rick Anderson/Ron Mielkey
