High winds, cold temperatures and high water greeted the 29 Walleye Anglers Trail teams at their 2nd. regular season tournament in Bellevue, Iowa this past weekend.
The team of Harry Miller Jr. and Bob Schmerbach squeaked out a victory over the 2nd. place team of John Mannerino and Mark Michael by .05 lb.. Bob Schmerbach brought in a 3 lb. walleye to capture the “Big Fish” award.
Many anglers were catching nice walleyes but they were in the protected 20 to 27 inch slot. The Walleye Anglers Trail assisted the Iowa DNR with their creel count and tagged fish identification project at the weigh-in each day.

Richter Anchor 25 pound award – Rick Anderson/Ron Mielkey
