*Dale Halgren - Are you guys familiar with our products?
*ebijack - Please Welcome our host tonight DALE
*ebijack - clap clap clap
*ebijack - howdy dale, how about starting us off with some info about you and the products
*spampy - motion detection Dale?
*Dale Halgren - We use a radar type unit that mounts in the boat and arms and disarms with a
keyless remote. It looks for a change in mass and can detect intrusion and set off 120 decibel alarm
*spampy - awsome
*ebijack - dale, do your products work only with a boat cover on?
*Dale Halgren - Our systems retail for $120 plus installation. Works with cover on or off, trailered or docked.
*spampy - While towing?
*ebijack - dale, do they also detect motion as if someone was lifting any elecronics from a boat?
*Dale Halgren - most people turn it off while towing but when you pull into the restaurant and lock
your car, just push the keyless remote and our system watches your boat.
*spampy - That is a product more people need.
*ebijack - dale are there sensors for motion as if lifting a locker lid?
*Dale Halgren - Our system can be adjusted to create a zone of protection with in the gunwales of
your boat. Any significant changes in mass set it off No hatches to wire.
*ebijack - dale, only a mass detector or motion also
*Dale Halgren - The microwave generator can see through the non metallic compartment walls so a
sensor can be mounted inside a compartment and still monitor other compartments.
*spampy - What if someone bumps the tongue of a trailer at midnight?
*ebijack - dale, so you'd rate this better than the alarms that work only on boat covers for movement?
*Dale Halgren - Any motion of any size is a change in mass and will be detected.
*Dale Halgren - There is a shock detector which can be programmed to 5 levels from sensitive to
off. If someone bumps the tongue of the trailer, it won't go off if set properly. It is very easy to set
*ebijack - dale, any chance the alarm can be set to notify your pager incase your not in earshot?
*spampy - How do I get one?
*ebijack - dale, how about a web site address and or phone number/dealers etc
*spampy - right on ebi!
*Dale Halgren - Way better than boat cover types cuz lots of people don't cover their boats or
don't always cover them. We protect open boats from having people reach in and help themselves to your stuff.
*ebijack - sounds great dale
*Dale Halgren - Website www.copcorp.com
*ebijack - dale, is there only one product or do you have different options
*Dale Halgren - Where are you at. I'll give you a dealer near you or they are available from walleye central web page
*ebijack - walleyecentral link is good!!!!
*Dale Halgren - We offer 2 products for boats. One uses a tension loop in the hem of a boat cover.
That is called UNDERCOVER COP The other is called DOCK COP and uses the motion detection technology.
*ebijack - dale, how long has C.O.P. been building these
*ebijack - i've heard of those on t.v.
*Dale Halgren - This technology was developed specifically for the boating industry and works on
boats of all sizes. Our prototypes came out about 3 years ago
*spampy - $120 ?
*ebijack - dale, what kind of warranty etc do the products carry, and are they affected by rain?
*Dale Halgren - We have a 1 year warranty. They are totally unaffected by rain or splashing water.
If you sink your boat, that is another issue.
*ebijack - :)
*ebijack - dale, have you tried/used the product since it came out?
*spampy - fish you need a alarm?
*ebijack - dale, is C.O.P. sponsoring any pro's
*fisherman - I guess I'm a little late. Whats the topic?
*Dale Halgren - I have put in a bunch of them. They work great. Alot of bass anglers love them. If
fact, anyone who travels with their boat or fishes in tournaments should have one.
*Dale Halgren - Yes we sponsor several pros.
*spampy - Sounds great while traveling on the Interstate system
*ebijack - sounds like it would be great even for your trailer while out on the boat, if you could also
hook it to set off a pager
*Dale Halgren - You know the feeling, when you leave your boat full of stuff outside the hotel at
night or you pull into a McDonald's back lot for a burger. For $120 you don't have to feel that way
*ebijack - here near detroit we have so many car alarms going off, no one even looks anymore
*spampy - thats affordable Dale
*ebijack - was that 125 db's dale?
*Dale Halgren - Our systems take very little current so you can leave them powered up for weeks
at a time with no significant battery drain.
*ebijack - sounds great dale
*fisherman - Dale Is this the system that we sort of discussed a few weeks back on open chat
*Dale Halgren - An alarm on a boat draws attention. I have testimonials from several tournament
pros that have had their stuff saved by out products. 120 db's
*Dale Halgren - Yes fisherman, I was visiting the site to become familiar with your chat site and we talked a bit.
*ebijack - that's about as loud as a live concert right?
*Dale Halgren - You can't stand next to it. You would have to have alot of nerve to stick around to
rip off a boat with this blasting away.
*ebijack - dale, is it possible to install this by yourself or does it need to be installed by a dealer
*fisherman - Dale what's the average car alarm decible wise
*Dale Halgren - Takes about 45 minutes and it is a piece of cake to install
*ebijack - dale, is everything pretty much hidden, nothing to trip over etc in the boat
*Dale Halgren - 120 db's is the maximum volume FCC will allow for an alarm system. It hurts to be
near it. The only thing you see is a unit about the size of a paper back book. You can even put that
inside a cabinet if you wish.
*spampy - If I sell my old boat can I remove it?
*Dale Halgren - Yes, it can be removed and reinstalled.
*ebijack - dale, is it 360 degrees or any movement detector
*fisherman - Dale is this set off by any movement once the alarm is set
*spampy - Dale sounds like you got the product. I must go good luck to all !
*ebijack - dale, will wal-mart type stores be selling the dock cop?
*Dale Halgren - It uses a stainless steel shield to adjust the zone inside the boat.
*Dale Halgren - We have no plans to hit wally world with this unit. It is best handled by professional
marine equipment dealers
*ebijack - dale, will it cover any length boat?
*Dale Halgren - We are just now hitting the market with these products.
*Dale Halgren - With one microwave generator, we are limited to about 20 feet. You can add a
second microwave gen on the same alarm module to extend coverage
*ebijack - so a guy with a 40 fter could feel more at ease with the boat sitting at a dock
*Dale Halgren - We also have a device that protects propellers and connects to the siren module to
prevent prop theft. Big problem on boats with $800 props.
*Dale Halgren - Yep. We have a number of these on the great lakes and we are just setting up a
dealer in Bermuda
*ebijack - dale, what would a complete set up cost for boat and prop etc
*ebijack - you need to sell these t-mac
*T-Mac - explain...? just got here
*Driftr - ya TM , this is a great sounding product
*ebijack - boat/prop alarms
*ebijack - 120 db's
*T-Mac - k
*Dale Halgren - $155 would set you up with the works on most boats. On bass boats, if you want
to cover every inch, you should have a second microwave generator so figure 200
*T-Mac - sounds good so far
*ebijack - guess you'll have to read the posted chat later
*ebijack - why a second micro dale?
*T-Mac - K...but sounds interesting
*Dale Halgren - My Email address is email@example.com If anyone has any questions for later, give
me a shot.
*ebijack - are there any more questions for our host tonight?
*Dale Halgren - If you have a glass boat with the microwave generator up front looking back and
you set it up high enough to see all the way to the rear of the boat, you can get false alrams from
seeing events through the hull
*Driftr - Great unit Dale
*ebijack - I'd like to thank our host tonight DALE
*Dale Halgren - any of you experience a theft???
*ebijack - clap clap clap
*Driftr - Thanks for the chat!!!!!
*Dale Halgren - bow, bow bow
*Driftr - clap clap clap
*Eyez - Thanks alot Dale, sounds like you have a great product.
*ebijack - not me dale, but always worry about it
*Eyez - and I think I gotta get me one :)
*ebijack - there's a link off walleyecentral if you want more info also folks!
*Dale Halgren - Thanks to Walleye Central for having me tonight!!
*ebijack - thanks dale!
