*ebijack - Please Welcome our host tonight JEFF FORE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*ebijack - clap clap clap
*mbrandt - clap clap
*ebijack - jeff, how about starting us off with a bit of info about you
*river king - chat on sunday???
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - I'm from Council Grove, Ks. For starters
*mbrandt - i like it on sun
*ebijack - jeff, how long have you been making rods
*river king - what kind of rods do you sell
*Whip(NE) - Jeff F. - how far is that from Norton KS??
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - Only 2 1/2 years
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - but in that time I've built over 170 rods
*ebijack - wow
*mbrandt - and nice ones too
*ebijack - don't you fish jeff... :)
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - :) thanks Mark
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - Not as much as I used too!!!!!
*mbrandt - explain your signature rods
*ebijack - jeff, do you make trolling rods besides jigging rods?
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - You mean the Private Label rods?
*mbrandt - yes
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - They are constructed on St. Croix Factory overuns
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - These blanks are un branded and don't carry the factory warranty
*mbrandt - all st croix series blanks?
*ebijack - do you carry any warranty jeff on your rods
*river king - whats the difference in yours and st croix
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - I get them in bundles and have to sort thru them
*Don Fore - I have two of jeffs rods, crappie and a walleye pole and they are nice
*ebijack - jeff, what's the price range of your rods
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - On the warranty - The blank isn't warranted but my craftmanship is!!!
*mbrandt - richard mellon also uses jeffs rods
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - Private label rods start at $64.95
*river king - so what you do is take st croix rods and putting your writing on them
*mbrandt - gloomis blanks too
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - Riverking- No I'm using there overun blanks for my rods
*ebijack - jeff, you get rod blanks, no guides or handles right
*river king - whats the dfference in the rods then
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - The #1 st croix blanks will have the factory decal on them
*ebijack - jeff, do you make any type handle and lenght?
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - The main difference in the rods is the factory warranty
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - Yes I can make just about anything you can dream up
*mbrandt - you want wood right ebi
*ebijack - :)
*ebijack - you bet mark
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - Can do wood!!!!
*river king - i dont understand the difference is the warranty and the writing is that it
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - when I receive the blanks they are just that - blanks
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - I then find the spine
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - then Place the handle and guides on
*ebijack - jeff, do you put the same amount of eyelets as st croix
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - The guide spacing is up to the customer
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - I prefer to use the G.Loomis guide spacing chart
*river king - ok so the final product is a st croix rod with your personalized handle and eyes right
*ebijack - jeff, so we can get a st croix rod cheaper and set up thru you?
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - Quality is actually better in my opinion
*mbrandt - i agree
*river king - how
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - I spend more time on the craftmanship
*mbrandt - better guides, handle and finish
*river king - yes but arent the rods seconds
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - someone who does this 8 - 10 hours a day
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - may not put as much of there soul into the product!!!!!!!!!!!!
*ebijack - jeff, you label each rod with customers name?
*mbrandt - king if you have never had a custom rod, you don't know what your missing
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - If the customer so desires I can inscribe it with there name or whatever
*Juls - do you make trolling rods too jeff?
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - Juls - I've done a few trolling rods - mostly spinning and casting
*ebijack - jeff, you can get any length rod blank?
*Juls - oh ok...im looking for a couple new trolling rods....thought i would ask...;-)
*Juls - I only hear good things about your work...
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - King - Some of the blanks in the bundles I receive may be seconds but mostly are overuns
*ebijack - jeff, what do you do with the seconds
*river king - i see
*mbrandt - what exactly is a second
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - A second usually has a minor blemish in the finish
*river king - a second does/nt meet quality standards
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - I check each and every blank for bad spots
*ebijack - jeff had run a special to those who were on marks walleyelist
*mbrandt - can that be corrected
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - I only use the good blanks
*ebijack - jeff, so you send the bad one's back to st croix?
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - I would however rather build using the #1 blanks but these are more expensive
*mbrandt - do you still use gloomis/
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - ebi - I just use them for tomato
stakes or.......
*Juls - whoa now...i did not know you used St Croix blanks....wahoooo!! Your my guy!! what is your email or website buddy ol' pal? ;-)
*Juls - lol..tomato stakes..good one...;-)

*ebijack - jeff, building rods is a sideline for you
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - yes ebi it's a sideline but i take great pride in my work
*ebijack - jeff, what's the average time line to get one of your rods
*mbrandt - how did you learn how to build rods?
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - Mark - I still use the Loomis blanks - everything that's on my website
*ETT - Jeff, where are you located
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - The first few 10 or 15 I just did on
my own after that I bought a few books
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - I'm located in council grove, KS.
*Juls - wait.... you only use loomis or do you use st croix too?
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - Basicly I can use Loomis, st. croix, lamiglass, uglystick seeker, etc.
*ebijack - jeff, you buy all those rod blanks?
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - But I have the loomis - st croix line advertised
*ETT - how do your prices compare to factory rods?
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - Ett used to be alot cheaper but as the quality grew the price followed
*ETT - now???
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - The Loomis GLX and ST. Croix Legend are alot cheaper
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - the others are the same
*ETT - how about the fancy stuff
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - To clarify - all #1 blanks are marked with the company logo and carry a factory warranty
*ebijack - jeff, do you go to any shows where folks can see
your work?
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - Yes - During the winter I've set up
at different sport shows
*ebijack - jeff, any other states than ks?
*ETT - how many rods do you build per year?
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - Mainly local shows - Hastings, NE. - Topeka KS.
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - Over the past 2 1/2 years I've built over 170 rods
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - Juls - what type trolling do you do?
*ebijack - jeff, how often do you run specials
*Juls - walleye....cranks...spinners.....you know in line boards...
*ebijack - jeff, what's the driving effort that keeps you making rods
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - I basically enjoy the good words everyone has for my work
*ETT - Its really fun ebi if you can do it when you want to
*ebijack - jeff, what's the time line to get one of your rods
*Juls - Jeff...I would be looking for a 7' med fast....telescoping if possible....nothing fancy..just a
good worker!!
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - Juls - mark Dorn and st. croix came up with a new 8' telescoping just for the walleye guys
Jeff F. - The Rod man - Delivery time is anywhere between 2 weeks and 2 months depending on how busy I am
*ebijack - jeff, do you only make rods after there ordered, or do you have "regular" ones that you also sell
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - ebi - would love to be able to quit my job and build a bunch of rods for immediate delivery
the profit just isn't there
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - I'm basicly just doing custom work
*ebijack - are there any more questions for our host tonight?
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - ett-isn't that the truth - took a slew of med light 6'6" rods to the Nebraska show
*Juls - can you get your hands on the old red legend st croix blanks? or do you only get the new stuff Jeff?
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - Everyone wanted 6'6" Medium action
*ETT - ebi there's just too many choices in blanks, guides, grips, thread colors, on and on
*Jeff F. - The Rod man - Havent seen the red label blanks advertised anywhere juls
*Juls - probably wont....they discontinued the series...just thought you may have had an inside track to them...;-)
*ebijack - I'd like to thank our host tonight JEFF FORE !!!!!!!!
*ebijack - clap clap clap
*Juls - thanks jeff...clap clap clap
*ETT - clap clap
