Having a wasted Sat on my hands today I got to thinking about that Minnkota Power-up you suggested to take in and get fixed. So I took the motor off to bring it in. I basically had to take it apart to get it off the unit itself, in doing so I noticed that gunk from the brushes had clogged the spaces inbetween the little copper plates on the motor itself. So I took a little copper wire brush and cleaned it up, put it back together and it works just like new. So again thanks for the suggestion.
