I've decided its time to invest in some inline planer boards for use when trolling crankbaits and possibly bottom bouncers. I have no experience with this stuff so what do I need to look for?

Make it easy on yourself and get some Off Shore In-Lines. Go to the Mainpage here on Walleye Central and click on the Off Shore Logo. Have the Off Shore Release Newsletter sent to you (free of charge)..it's full of useful information.

I like using the Tattle Flags, so I can detect a small fish that is being dragged, or weeds on the bait. I would also suggest changing the black releases to the red ones. The red ones are stronger.

I'm sure your aware of the Precision Trolling Book too? A must have, if you want to know what depth your baits are running close to.

Good luck, I'm sure you'll love trolling with them as much as I do! ;-)

Juls,
Do you change both clips on each board to the red ones? Or just the front clips?

Ditto to Juls....the Off Shore boards, in my humble opinion, are the best out there. And the tattle flags look like a great thing...I just bought the kits to upgrade my boards to tattle flags. Can't wait to try them out on Big Stone this weekend!!
