Antenna location and mounting

Bought a Lowrance 3300c GlobalMap. I have a Lund 1700 Fisherman and I'm looking for some ideas on the location and method of attachment for the antenna. Right now I'm not planning on using the unit in my car, but if I can set it up so that I can I won't rule that out.

If you have a 25 watt marine band radio, get the GPS antenna well away from your radio antenna.
If my old depthfinder is as sick this spring as it seemed last fall, I'll be buying a GPS and a depthfinder. I'm going to rig an antenna mount that I can attach to both my boat and my pickup/camper. I'm not too proud to take directions from a machine, only too proud to listen to my wife when she's holding the map.

How did you attach yours??

I called Lowrance and ordered the magnetic mount that fits nicely in the bottom of the antenna (about $5). Then mounted a piece of galvanized steel, using double sided tape, to the gunnel. It is very easy to remove the antenna for use in the vehicle. This is working great for me so far.
