I would assume you are from MN. After personally talking boats with the "Big 3" that are associated with this promotion, would probably choose a dealer that is there for both the sale and the service. Now I'm just waiting for the guys from CP to flame this post...

This “Boat Wars” is being held at the National Sport Center in Blaine, Minnesota. I really doubt there will be “great deals”. Just think, Minnesota averages over 1.5 million licensed resident anglers a year. There are Hundreds of Thousands of registered boats in Minnesota, many are sitting in garages, storage lots, driveways, pole barns etc. There are thousands of fishing boats for sale in the private market in Minnesota every year. There are lots of late model boats waiting to be sold. Lot’s of divorces and over extended financial obligations to just name a few. New financing is easy to qualify on new boats. You’ll also have NEW payments too. If your buying used, go with a private seller. I think you’ll have a more complete history of the rig compared to dealers. Dealers provide service and are there to sell new boats. Don’t get gouged on a used boat from a dealer, you’ll wait in line like everybody else when she breaks down. Fishing is time on the water, the more time on the water the better. Boats are Hulls, they float. Consider buying a used boat, new motor and trailer. You save thousands.

When I saw the title BOAT WARS I thought of a demolition derby with boats. Lund Pro V crashing into a Ranger boat and Ranger crashing into Alumacrafts....the best boat left floating. Look it is a no name 1969 Starcraft, I had one of these not too long ago, it was a tank and drove like one - I think it could take a direct hit from a torpedo. Don't get me wrong I liked the boat.

I like the starcraft comment! I fished next to 19'Starcraft from that Era which had a new Yamaha 115 hug on her, it looked like it was made for Lake of the Woods and 6ft. rollers!
