Been rigging my brand new 1900 Pro V the last two nights and I was making sure that everything worked for upcoming tournament. When I tried to install the small pvc pipe that is used in rear baitwell to control overflow, I discovered that it would not fit in the hole. I also noticed that the hole configuration is different than the front bait well that works fine. The front has a black connection piece on bottom that the pvc goes into and the rear just has the hole.

Am I missing a part or should I just try sanding the pvc down to make it fit into the hole? The pipe looks like it is about an 1/8" thick and I will have to remove at least 1/2 of that thickness to work. Somethings not right?

I called my marina and talked to my mech that I trust and he said that they saw this happen before. He reduced the size of the pvc pipe.

Any suggestions?

Hey Dennis,
Sorry to say that is the way most livewells in Lunds Are. Many of the boats I have sold I have actually had to sand one end of the pipe so it fits in the hole, a tip would be to sand both ends so you dont have to go through trial and error everytime you use your livewell. The rear livewell was exactly that way in every boat I have sold.
Good Luck

Dennis....we have to take many of those over to the grinder and grind them smaller to make them fit, when we are prepping the boat for delivery. I'm sure we don't catch it everytime, and other dealers probably don't either.

If you want a really nice tube....T-H Marine makes a replacement tube that has a vinyl sleeve on the end that really works well. They cost about $6.00 each. The part numbers is ODT-1 / "Overflow Drain Tube". You will have to cut the top off to proper length. T-H Marine has a website, if your local marine store doesn't carry these.
