View Full Version : Prop for Alumacraft Tourney Pro 185 CS
I was looking for some suggestions as to the best SS prop for spot to spot performance for a Honda 200. Any Suggestions? I have a 15 kicker on it too and I go about 235 plus or minus one Krispy Kreme. I have a 19+ on it now that gets about 47 GPS MPH at WOT at about 5800 rpms. What should I be getting out of this for speed if it was propped right?

I don't know much about Honda props and being a Yamaha owner I like the Mercury props. A stainless with the motor mounted right will break 50mph if you are doing 47mph with an aluminum now. Where is the motor mounted?
Thanks for the reply. I actually have a SS right now. I just had it out with the new hydrofoil on it and it ran 49 WOT GPS with bad water and half a tank of gas. I never trimmed it all the way up to see just how fast she could go now due to the vicious Mr. Misty headache I was getting from the cold air off of Lake Superior. I have the motor in the second from the bottom hole. The guy I boat the boat from thought a 21 4 blade SS would get a better top end. I am not sure how fast Hondas are capable of going. I am looking for other Honda owners to let me know what they are getting for top end on their similar type boats.

I have the 185cs w/Evinrude 200 She runs about 50-53mph can't remember the rpm on it since it hasen't been in the water since Nov. of last year. The prop is Renegade 4-blade 21 pitch. The prop has good bow lift and also works good on rough waters.

I would reccomend a 5 blade it may give you enough bow lift. These boats are very wet in anything over a 2 foot wave.
I would have to disagree with you on the wet ride comment Jim98. I have had this boat out in 4 footers and not gotten wet. The water that was hitting me was coming from the sky in the form of rain. I will say that I was not pounding the throttle, but I did have it up on plane and moving pretty good. I personally felt that it handled better than I would have guessed. Your experience may be different but I was more than satisfied with the dry ride I had from this boat.
