My family and I will be attending a family reunion in Prior Lake, Mn over the Labor Day weekend. Could any of you please give me suggestions of good lakes within about 30 minutes. Thanks for the help.

Where are you traveling from? I would suggest the Mississippi River. If you have never fished Pool 4 you will enjoy the lake Pepin area. It will be closer to a 60 minute drive, but worth the extra travel time.

Good luck!

I was just on Spring lake yesterday for some tubing but I had to go to 6 DNR landings on area lakes to get on, the ramps are full and there was no street parking at Marion, Fish, Prior, Crystal, and at Spring where I got lucky and saw someone being towed in so I waited to see if they were leaving and they were.
My point is don't plan on going to these ramps on that holiday during the day without an alternative or a drop off during the day. With the boat traffic what it is you will want to fish early in the morning otherwise it is a Zoo.
Pepin on the river is an hour drive or there are a lot of lakes by Fairbault MN that have OK fishing including Sheilds, Mazaska, French, Circle, Tetonka, Sakahta, Cannon, these are just a few of your choices I would go to the MN DNR web pages and use there lake finder feature to look at the netting surveys and also print crude maps of the ones you would like to fish.
MN might be the land of 10,000 lakes but there are 2 million people in the Twin Cities trying to use them. I'm sure that during the day you will find lots of company on these lakes on the holiday. Pray for rain LOL

Hope this helps
