I have a '94 Mercury 175. When I tilt the motor up and down there's a lot of clicking noises in the hydraulics. It seems to work fine. Just curious if this could lead to a problem and if I should fix something before it dies?? Thanks

Chuck,
Check the roller balls on the end of the (2)trim rams. If they are dry give them a coat of good marine grease.

Toolman has the right info for the problem of clicking noise. I had that sam problem with my 135 Mariner and a little daub of silicone grease fixed the problem. It will reoccur as the balls get dry. Just clean and daub more grease and away you go.

Chuck,
Glad I could help. I had the same thing a couple of years ago. I got the info on how to fix it here. Just passing it on.
