I will be in town after PWT and thinking of fishing part of history that my dad helped build. Any ideas?
Thanks Colin

Not sure what part of Kinzua you are interested in. I'm not familiar at all with the New York area.. it will also require a Seneca Nations license. I have fished the PA end a little. Best results were in Sugar Bay. Alot of stumps in the 35/40' range that hold fish and lots of tackle. There used to be quite a few trees that fell into the water that would hold fish along shore but last time there (2yrs ago) there weren't many of them. The water is very low right now.

If you are just looking for some inland lake for recreational fishing.. Chautauqua in my opinion is 10X the fishery and will be closer to Dunkirk. Drop me an email if interested in that and I'll shoot you some info. or try to catch up to me at Dunkirk. (Fred Forsythe)Gilligan

Kinzua is as prestine as it gets (PA style anyway). If you don't mind doing battle with hundreds of other boats and jetskis... go to Chautauqua, you'll most likely catch more and bigger fish. But, if you're looking for a more relaxing adventure with a Canada'esque setting, Kinzua is the way to go. If it is real sunny, which it should be, work the fallen trees with jigs. Mudlines on the main lake are also good producers later in the day. Your odds are probably better to stay in PA this time of year.

Good Luck
