My 15 HP 4 stroke is driving me nuts. It will start quickly, sputter and stall. After it stalls gas runs out of the carburator.I think it gets flooded and will not start again. I did take it back to my dealer, it did run well for two outings now it is back to the same thing. Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

I think that you have a float that is getting stuck, I had the same problem. Have the carb cleaned and install an inline filter. These four stroke will have trouble with the smallest particle in the carb. I just went through the same thing, small pieces of rubber were dislodging from my primer bulb. Hope this helps.

Try running a fuel conditioner with every tank such as SeaFoam or RingFree. If running RingFree add a fuel stabilizer, SeaFoam has some anti-aging conditioners. I use RingFree, but if I was to use SeaFoam would probably still add the fuel stabilizer.

Thanks to both of you for your help. I use Ring Free, I'll try the stabilizer and get the float cleaned. Thanks again.

Just a FYI - have an F80. Last spring didn't use a fuel stabilizer in the spring since I was going out every 3 - 4 days. Well, I had all kinds of starting, idling and running problems until I cleared it out with a concentrated dose of RingFree. Now I use both religiously, hope it clears up your problem. Good luck.

myyammysucks is obviously confused. he must own some brand of engine. no yamaha engine ever produced has as much as sputtered.
