Hey guys and gals, I have debated over how to stow my net and have decided that I would install a titelock net holder[verticle} on my 1800 explorer. Have any of you installed this type of net holder, if so, where did you install yours {location on boat}? If you used a different device I'd like to hear how you did yours. I had thought about installing it on the side opposite the drivers console. That way it is out of the way of the rear for trolling, and not in front of the driver for visibility reasons and the fact of water spray off the net. Let me know how you did it?
Thanks

Something went wrong and most of my post was left off. My question is where in the boat would be a good position to vertical mount a titelock net holder on an 1800 explorer. I want it out of the way of the transom for trolling purposes, and decided against mounting it next to or in front of the console for visibility reasons. I had narrowed it down to opposite the console. That would put it within easy reach and still out of the way. Anybody else use this type of mount? Any other good ideas for mounting a net?

Bill,
I installed a net holder in my boat (dual console glass Tracker). I looked at the Titelok and the Frabil. I kinda liked the 2 tool holders on each side of the net yoke and the larger size for more stability (4 screws on app 4"x 6" pattern) so I got the Frabil holder. I mounted it in front of the drivers console just around the corner of the pass-thru (off center of straight ahead vision when driving). It's out of my way for driving and handy to grab when needed trolling or fishing from the front deck. When I was in the location selection process, I thought about mounting it right between the walk-thru on the side of either the drivers or passengers console, but I thought it would be in the way. There's enough room between them that it probably wouldn't have been an issue.
There's lots of Lund 1800s out there maybe someone can be more boat specific.

Net holders are nice when cruising but when fishing the nets on the floor, you catch more fisherman than fish by taking the net in and out of the holder. :)
