I own an Eagle trailer with side guides and I love it. I am pricing new boats and the one dealer only handles Prestige. They said you do not need side guides with this trailer. Can anyone give me some hands on advice?? Thanks

I HAVE AN EAGLE WITH THE VERT. GUIDES ALSO , THEY WORK GREAT. I JUST SAW A PRESTIGE TRAILER AT MY FAVORITE DEALER AND IT HAD THE VERT GUIDES ON IT. THEY WERE ADJUSTABLE TOO. I LIKE THE FACT THAT IT ALSO CAME WITH A TORSION AXEL AND OIL BATH HUBS.ALL IN ALL NICE LOOKING TRAILER.

The reason guides are not as popular on the Prestige is that they typically come with 6 bunks.

I recently had a Prestige trailer/1800 Pro V IFS combo and it was great. I agree that there is no need for guides with the 6 bunks.

The boat always loaded perfectly and easily.

Their customer service department is also very knowlegeable and courteous. Check out their website:

i like the vertical post load guides more for backing up empty down a steep launch ramp. also nice for your buddy who does'nt know how to use mirrors. i have ordered my new prestige with the nylon covered foam sleeves covering the guides.

I have a Prestige without load guides, I couldn't be happier. My boat loads perfect every time, Never had to back off and hit it again. Good luck, Mark N

I agree with having the vertical load guides for ease of backing an empty trailer so you have something you can see for reference. I even take it a step further when I back down at night. I have a waterproof rubber flashlight with a rope loop on the end that slips over the front of the horizontal part of the vertical load guide. I let it hang down toward the water. As I back down in the dark I can see the flashlight. When I hit the water I can still see a beam in the water. This made backing an empty trailer down to the water in the dark a breeze. It slips back off in a second.

Also, in some places like LBDN in Michigan they will give you a citation if you power load. For that rare time you have to winch it on in the wind, the vertical load guides really help.

I handle five trailer brands. If I could be anyone right now it would be the owner of Prestige trailers. To me for a quality custom trailer they are the only game in town. They are getting all of the Eagle customers as far as I can see. As for guides, the last two trailers I had did have them and they were underwater when I put the boat on the trailer. Carpeted trailer fenders help more. For guides to help on many boats they would need to be four feet high. You will love your new Prestige. Good Luck!! Manny
