I have just purchased this unit and it works great. I have it mounted on the bow and I have a Lowrance-X15MT with GPS mounted on the console. The LPG-2000 is very easy to use and will be a big help in colder weather with the oversized knobs. It has great clear pictures of structure, and seperates bottom nicely. I am pleased with this unit. Reeds had them on sale for $ 479.99, a big savings from $ 599.99. I think you will enjoy using this unit also. JJ

Have one, like it very much. Used it in bright sunlight as well as at night. Particularly like the mode where you can set it up yourself. Suggest searching the web for the best price. There is also someone on this site that is very knowledgable about these things and he posts time to time. I don't think you can go wrong.

Hey Jersey,..would you say it show as much detail as the Lowrance? Which do you prefer as a fish finder?

In my fishing I prefer the X-15MT. This unit does much more that I need at this point in my fishing. I bought the Lowrance because it has features that I needed on my boat such as GPS. The mapping part is somewhat advanced for me right now as I am learning to use it. Lowrance has put out a great unit in the X-15MT. When I was looking for a new unit I played with it for a long time and decided it was for me. Once I use it more, I am sure it will fast become the best unit I ever bought. This unit does everything I would want one to do and more, except tell me that those arch's are big eyes! Both units are great. JJ

Jersey John,

I believe WildBill has already contacted me via e-mail (which I was very behind on answering!).

Do you know about the 'hidden menus' in the LPG 2000? If not, please contact me via e-mail. Let me know if you can receive attachments and if you can view WORD documents. I'll be glad to send the information to you.
