I am looking to upgrade my electronics on my boat. Right now I have the stock Humminbird Wide 100 ( a total piece of dog crap) that came with my boat. I added a Lowrance(Eagle) portable by attaching it to the skeg on my front troller ( that works real nice) What I want to know is are there good units that have fish finding & GPS all in one? I did see a great Sitech fishfinder on a charter that I liked , but his GPS was a seperate unit. Please note that I live in Canada, so I would need something available here.

I have been Fishfinder hunting for a while, looking over all the options, and I have come to the conclusion that the built in GPS is not worth the extra cash, plus limits your use of the GPS to the boat. I am a hunter also, and have found my hand held GPS to be worth its weight in gold when hunting remote or unfamilar areas. Just plot my truck and off I go. Don't have to worry about finding it, looking for landmarks, etc. (I still note landmarks just in case something goes wrong!) I mounted my handheld next to my fish finder and it works great!
I have the Bottomline Tournament Master HR with the GPS and love it. It is easy to work and the fishfinder is awsome. Got mine from Cabelas for $849 w/ the GPS. Worth every penny. Good luck with your choice.

I too live in god's country and bought a Lowrance X-15mt with gps
and this unit is great not one complaint. I have read on this board of some folks having problems when they first came out but after upgrading the software they were ok in most cases. got mine at wholesale sports in Calgary for around 1600.00 canadian.
good luck im sure you will love this unit.
