Saturday afternoon a fellow angler a kid to me who gave up his worms for Mepps spinners and trophy small mouths in my boat. This young man dead at 36 years old? Fella you had it rough, born an acoholic in the womb, to an alcoholic parents.Work hard he did, fish hard he did, but alas drink also. I'm no angel and we had a few when fishing together and as he got better and more confident, getting drunk was not so much a vice to him while angling. He always questioned me as to why I did not fish pro or at least own a bigger nicer boat, I insisted that if he bought a boat I would fish tournaments with him anytime, but then again the alcohol he could keep, but a drivers license not. Fish on buddy, cool to the canal, calm and quiet. God loves ya.

Cangl loosing a friend is tough, seeing it coming is even tougher. I too have lost a few in the same way, it hurts and seams such a horrible waist.

Maybe you can honor your friend and in some way and promote responsible use of alcohole or abstinence from it while operating a motorized vehicle?

Possibly mentor or sponsor a troubled youth into a fishing event as your partner or just make a donation to a worthy cause in his name. There are many programs that are in need of a bit of help, you sound like a person who could contribute well to expanding a troubled youths horizon.

I am sorry to hear of your loss.

Thanks for the prayers, this mans loss is in in area were fate had yet to let me down.
Plucked him off the river bank as I am known to do.
Take a kid fishing keep them him safe, secure and sober.
Fishing can save lives do not doubt it. In the movie "A River Runs Through It" the woman tells the older brother that unfortunately "those who need the most help are the least likely to want it" this I believe is sad but true.
