Went fishing for the 1st time at Lake Erie out of Port Clinton, OH. Me and 5 buddies got a guide for 3 of the most awesome fishing days of my life. We didn't catch many fish which I new when I booked the trip this time of year, but we went for wall hangers and thats what we all got. We ended up with 2 12#ers, 2 11#ers, 1 10#er, a couple of 9's and some 8's. One day we had 10 fish with a total weight over 90# I was amaized!!! The 1st day I got a 11#er that is going on the wall I was completely satisfied right then. On our 3rd day we heard Ohio Game & Fish were looking for large fish to take pictures for there cover, they said there was a guy with a 27" fish they were going to snap a picture of, so our captian got on the radio and replied that he had six fish well over 27" they found us on the water and shot a bunch of pictures for the magazine. What a once in a lifetime trip!!!!! If anyone gets this magazine let me know how to get a copy of it. Thanks

Congradulations on the great outing. However, next time turn some of the big ones back. Walleye always taste best fresh. Too many fish get wasted in the freezer. The smaller ones taste better anyways. Give someone else the chance to have the same enjoyement you had.

walleye taste the same big or small, I,ve tried it all and prepared many ways have yet to notice a difference, neither can you, as for throwing back you are only pissed because you do not do as well and also there are an estimated over 60 million walleyes in Lake Erie , tell me, just how many more do you need?

As far as throwing them back heres what the OHIO DNR thinks about it. Last week the PWT was in town -PWT rules make the guys bring there fish in alive. Ohio DNR did not want them put back in the lake. They say the lake can support it & they were donated to a food bank. there was 905 fish caught for the tourney (5958 pounds)and many more caught during prefish days and the cancelled day. I think if the DNR thinks this is OK then his 11 he kept probably won't hurt. Myself instead of trying to make him feel bad for having such a great trip I say GREAT JOB !!!!
