There are far better reels available than those.
I ,too, made the mistake of buying some Okumas.
IMHO....of course.

Thoose Okuma line counter reels are crap. Allot of Dud's. There spinning reels are excellent. I love my Avenger and epix.

I have about 14 of the 30DX"s. Love them. They're about 4 - 5 years old and I only have a very minor problem with the reset on 1 of them. I know of several charters and many friends that use them too. If you have any of the 30's that you want to sell, let me know.

I just returned a okuma reel last week. Pieces just kept falling off. I bought a Penn 320 GTI to replace it, man what a difference. The line counter was nice but not worth the trouble.
I've had a couple of them for 2 years now, and although I recommend to anyone that is looking for linecounters to buy Diawa, I wouldn't exactly say that mine are falling apart at the seams. They work, and have caught a mess of walleyes, but they do leave a lot to be desired. The counters have a tendency to not work at times, and the drags aren't the best, but I have used them successfully for 2 years, so they can't be that bad. If I had it to do over again, I'd buy Diawa, but they do work if you smack them around a little and know what to expect from them.
little tip, loosen the drag until line pull off the spool while trolling, then tighten it just enough to keep it from unspooling. If you troll like that, you'll do ok, but you'll have to tighten the drag as soon as you start reeling the plug or a fish in.

Keep an eye on Ebay this winter... I got 4 new ones and 2 that are 2 seasons old. They will go cheap! Diawa 27's in the boat next year.. no more sticking counters and reset buttons with a mind of their own.
