I would like to take a trip to sturgeon bay this fall. when would the best time be for walleyes? also, any recommendations for places to stay? thanks in advance.

The best time is now, the big fish are being caught all over!!

The best month by far is August. Early September isn't bad. Once the water cools below 60 degrees the bite changes to something not many people (including me) have figured out. You can still catch them at night, but the daytime bite can be real tough. Does anyone have a clue as to what happens to the walleyes at this time? I was talking with Dale Stroschein at a sport show and even he didn't know.
