Well I could use some advice, I know of a tournament coming up this weekend but not sure if I want to fish it. Heres the deal.

Weather has been 95-105 degrees, little to no wind. I prefished the water on sunday, and managed to catch 2 walleyes and 2 perch, the perch were bigger than the walleyes. I don't want to be out in the sauna if its not worth it. They are calling for a COLD FRONT tonight through the weeekend with T-storms likely. Would that have a positive impact on fishing, or should I just save my money and clean the boat....

Also my LMS 350A has a problem with the screen blackening when it is sitting toward the sun to long in this hot weather, anyone else or is their anything I can do???

thanks guys/gals...

You answered your own question and you didn't even know it. Your mindset is not in this one. Stay home and clean the boat. Fish the next one.
Unless of course there is a cookout after the tourney...then by all means go sweat it out and enjoy the food/drink and friends afterwards! ;-)

Just my opinion...

Sorry can't help you on that last part of your post.

Fish caught and bounced around in your livewell in these hot conditions are gonna die. Clean the boat, take your wife to a matinee movie, watch a Twins game, or test your hammock.

Looks like they have you covered on the first issue. Persoanlly I woudl go for it if I had the time.

The screen issue is something that most LCDs experience in extreme hot and cold temps. It simply over heats and the crystals cannot support the electrical image as well. Turn it off and place a white towel over the unit for 10 minutes and let it cool off. Should be fine once you are moving, but drifting or trolling in "the oven" can heat the screen up. It happened to me on Mille Lacs this past weekend and I did just that. Worked fine after that.

Caught my first Muskie!...WooHoo a whopping 28" ;-)

The tough conditions also tip the scales in favor of the team who knows the water and has done their homework. Tourneys under conditions where there's a hot bite going IMO bring a lot more luck into the game. If you know the water I'd say go for it.

Instead of the tourney, cause if your hearts not in it and you don't catch fish, it really can be frustrating, why don't you take a kid out fishing. If you don't have kids take the paperboy and his dad (or mom). The more people who enjoy fishing, the less likely our resources will die, and the less likely the idiots from PETA will get any sort of real voice.

If the options are fishing, or watching the Twins, go fishing for god's sake. By Sunday they should be about 3 games out. Go Tribe!!!!!!!

Hey there, Eyeguy Just an added thought on the screen problem. Yes this is not uncommon, but you need to try to avoid this before it happens. What I mean is that high heat can PERMANTLY damage the screen. I had a GPS unit sitting in a holder on the dash in my truck last year. It was working fine around April (spring turkey hunt). About the middle of July I tried to use it and the screen would not show anything. I couldn't tell what the problem was. I sent it in to Lowrance, They fixed it, but strongly suggested that heat was the culprit, and that this was not normaly covered by warranty. Keep in mind that this damage still happened even with the unit turned off. I don't leave mine on the dash now or under the boat cover either (my boat sits outside).
