I can't tell you about this coming July, but the past two Julys have been very good for us. Your problem is, will the weather cooperate, will it be too hot for the fish to bite. If possible, keep your options open and check what is happening a week or so before coming to Erie..

I usually have some great July days trolling spoons. Keep watching this board for updates as to where the bite is at that time. Usually not to far away from the islands...
The big fish will be off of geneva, either west(fairport) or east(astabula). We get some real hogs that time of year(5-8lbs.) But, its deep water trolling(12-20 miles off) 70 to 74ft. deep. There are some nice camp gounds and launch ramp there. (Geneva state park.) I'll try to help, if you want.( 2 hours past the Islands)
