Sounds like a load of bunk to me. I'll believe it when I see it posted on the gfp website, and it's not there now. I think someone's filling you full of crap nt.

there is a brief article in the chamberlain newspaper stating the gfp will be taking over those two ramps in chamberlain from the coe and that there will be a fee charged, but they don't say what the fee will be.

Well, I stand corrected. I guess that it doesn't surprise me that they turn it into a state park or something similar. It's not federally funded anymore. I wasn't aware that gfp was taking over the ramps on LFC also, I thought it was just Oahe. If it is a state park type fee, and I hope it is so they honor state park stickers, it'll be probably $3.00 a day, I think that's the state park fee, but I always buy a sticker so I'm not sure.

how much is the yearly sticker? do you know if the fee is the same for out-of-staters?

Yearly sticker is $20, and you can get a second one if you have an additional vehicle for $10. I don't think it's any different if you're from out of state.

$20.00 per year and an extra $10.00 if you want an extra sticker for another vehicle.

The fee is 3.00 for one person, and 5.00 for two or more. If you have the state park sticker, you don't have to pay extra. Still not a bad deal for a good ramp, imho. Rick

Not surprising. Federal Park Service has started that in Kentucky on ramps they 'own', call it a user fee to make up for congressional budget cuts. Folks are yelling there, too. m

I know being charged stinks, but someone has to pay for up-keep of these areas. I guess it should be us, since we are using them. I don't think SD has a clue what it's liked to be charged for every little thing. Move to MN and find out how different it is for our neighbors to the east. They have to pay at almost every ramp(almost all private). On Mille Lacs it's 7-10 dollars a day to launch. You need a license for each and every ice shack. MN is the land of 10K lakes and just as many taxes in my opinion. I think we have it pretty good all in all.

i hope i didn't sound like i was complaining, i sure didn't mean to be. i was just trying to find out what the fee might be and i don't have any trouble what so ever paying a small fee.
as far as minnesota goes i think most lakes have very adequate public ramps that are free. i'm sure if you drive into a private resort they are gonna charge and that's fine with me too. personally i would rather pay less taxes and pay fees for things like this. however, some may say that free public boat ramps are tax dollars at work.
