Being a inexperienced walleye fisherman who only knows how to jig for eyes, can anyone tell me how to fish these lures. What time of year is best for them? Do you troll them or cast them? Are they deep diving or shallow? Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advnce.

These are my favorite lures. Troll them between 1.5 to 3.0 mph using either a round ended snap or tieing directly to the extended wire loop that's on the bill of the lure. I suppose they can be cast too but I have rarely used them this way. When trolled they will dive to around 13 ft. when you have 100 ft. of line out. This is for the smaller (1/4 oz.) Hot-n-Tots. They seem to be the better size baits for walleye. For some reason they don't like the bigger 1/2 oz. or 3/4 oz. models nearly as much and we catch a lot of big 8 to 9 lb. walleye every year on the little ones. The Rattle-Tots are okay but since we do so well on the small ones, why change a good thing. Hope this answers your questions.
