View Full Version : Lowrance 2400 questions????
I was wondering if anybody has bought this model?
By checking on it's capabilitys the only difference between the X-75 is the back lighting. Is this a big deal??
Thanks in advance!! Tracey
Tracey,
I was talking to a Lowrance rep at a sport show about a month ago. the 2400 differd from the x-75 in a few ways beside the backlighting. I do not sdpecifically remember what they were, but the differences ARE significant. Better to check with Lowrance to be sure. Sorry I couldn't help more.

I think the back light, a cold cathode tube is a giant plus. Go with the X-75 because the many years you will have it will absorb the extra cost for the product you will recieve. It works great on cloudy days and at night is unequaled. Look at the new Vexilar edge and Zercom LPG, they both have the cold cathode tube also. Plus the 2400 is a special product built only for Cabelas. If they quit stocking it you will have a unit thats not sold anywhere else.
I agree with slip bobber -
1. The cold cathode lighting is very superior.
2. The black and shades of gray of the X-75 is much more viewer in day light than the shades of blue of the 2400 (another difference).
The few dollars will not be noticed over the long term.
Take care
