Has anybody fished Mille Lacs lately? I am going up this weekend with the family, and am interested in knowing what has been working and other general tips. Thanks.

Ric,
I was up there this past weekend. Caught a few on The Gravel Bar using slip bobbers and leeches- but as usual too big for the slot. Caught a few off Andersons Reef using slip bobbers again with leeches. The wind was howling too much to get a decent drift or work some edges off the flats but the shallow bite was pretty good if you can keep away from the perch. Using a larger leech was beneficial or we even went to artificial baits to keep from being bitten off. If the wind is blowing go to the rocks on the south side , if its calm run out to the flats and work that 20'-25' depth - red tails or shiners should be working pretty soon as the colder weather seems to be coming on. Good Luck

Spent Labor Day weekend working the flats when the wind went down. Caught many nice fish over 19", biggest 5 lbs. Resort Flat was the flat we had our luck. Caught smaller ones on East Myr Mar with slip bobbers and leeches. I think we would have done better had the wind not kept us off the lake.

Good Luck
