I'd like to have your all honest opinion on this question? should the mw c go to the pound system like the pwt or stay with the point system.

Hey MWCer,
Actually, either way it would not matter to me. I like, and am used to the points system, but it would not take much effort getting used to a pound system.
The one reason I resist the pound system would be if you do bad at, or miss, one high pound average tournament, you are basically out of it. Kind of like the PWT at Port Huron. If you don't go there, or do well there, you are basically out of the hunt.
Just my honest thoughts, as you asked for them.
Have Fun.......Ralph Muccilli

If you went with weight and some teams did poorly at a "big weight" tourney it might cause them to drop the rest of the schedule in the belief that they wouldn't make the championship. This would result in smaller fields at subsequent tournaments. With the combination of new and old blood at the helm I think the MWC will return to it's old stature or even better than before. Tournament circuits should be run by fishermen for fishermen, and women. Welcome back.

the point system is ingenius as it levels the playing field between different waters. with all the concern about costs of participating, points make much more sense. Weight would tend to reduce the importance of great sites like Spring valley which is primarily sauger water. And yet, runs one of the best tournaments in any circuit.
i personally like the point system over the weight system for the simple reason, as you say, a big fish event seems to make too much of an impact on standings or you might do well in a small fish event and not
gain a whole lot. however, when i have done comparisons, using the point system based on pwt event standings, using big fish and little fish events alike, not much changes. it seems to only change a couple places either way, especially on the bottem of the standings. so...i still like the point system best though. equal pressure on me at all events that way.
