I also have to work on Saturday but will be heading up to Dunkirk on Saturday afternoon for the early smallmouth season on Lake Erie. With any luck we'll pick up a few inshore walleye as well as some 5-6 pound smallies. Next weekend should find me on Honeoye for walleye. You ever fish it Scott?

I'll be in Wisconsin! BUT, as a former CNY walleye guy how 'bout Fish Creek? Or are the walleye's back in the lake. I remember casting twister tails across the currrent and slamming the 'eyes. Memories....
By the way, anybody know a of any eastern Oneida Lake camp rentals? Were visiting family in early August and are looking for a vacation rental for a week.

I hope to be on Honeoye at 12:01 friday nite. I lived on the lake for 12 years and this is my first spring away.I generally do real good the first few weeks then have to switch tactics. I heard the lake is down 2 feet versus last year so all attack plans may change.

hi Bill,
never fished Honeoye, one more place i need to get too!! i'm hoping i can get a few in the dark then i'll be here at work all day then i have to bowl sat. night. after all that i'll probable load the boat up and try it sunday! i'm lucky i'm still married!
pdslowik,
they still get them in the creek. i think most of the fish are back in the lake this year, early spawn and all. there will be guys there at 12:01 and i'm sure they will get a few.

I'm not going! Plan on letting Gangreen and Sluggo figure out where they are at then get a fishing report from them for the next weekend!
Actually, I guide for trout (yuck!) that weekend but will soon be chasing eyes on Chautauqua and Erie.

OK Scott, I'lll be on the famous Oneida Lake fish factory too.
I dont think the fish will be in the creeks this year due to the early spawn so I will start at midnight fishing the shorelines in Lakeport and depending on how I do will either move out deeper in morning or go Turkey hunting.
Buoy 109 is usually good early in year.
Good Luck on opener

Heading to Oswego River for the opener. Pulling big stickbaits in the river and the flat east of the river, along with the break walls. Hope they like ripsticks in Lake Ontario. Good luck to all.

Have you ever fished Henderson Harbor? I have plenty of ripsticks! Will be fishing all night from dark to light. What was a hot color last year for ripsticks? Do you ever fish the Oswego area? Jersey John

Usually fish Oswego @ night for WAlleyes.Breakwall to bridge and back down again it is a train usually crowded on wknd also several anglers on the wall an extra consideration. Rapalas in bl/slv or blk/silver need to be bumping bottom.Out in the lake my favorite is the Ripstick in iridescent or purple demon. Don't get up as often as I would like.

Thinking about going to Henderson Harbor for the 13th and 14th, do you have any info on that area. Fished Black River Bay area last year and Chaumont Bay. Seemed everyone was jigging or using harnesses during the day. I trolled at night and did OK for a first timer there. But heard you should troll during the day at Henderson area? Any help would be great. Jersey John
